Dunkermotoren was founded in 1950 by 34-year-old Christian Dunker in a small workshop beside his parents’ carpentry shop in Bad Godesberg. Due to its rapid growth, the company moved four years later to its current headquarters in Bonndorf, located in the Black Forest.
For more than 70 years, Dunkermotoren has grown into a global leader in flexible, high-quality motor solutions. Its portfolio includes brushless and brushed DC motors, linear systems, and AC motors with output power of up to 5,000 watts. Its modular system also allows customers to combine gearboxes, encoders, brakes, and integrated or external electronics to create complete motor units tailored to specific requirements.
In 2021, Dunkermotoren joined forces with EGS Automation, strengthening its position in industrial automation. The partnership gives EGS access to Dunkermotoren’s cutting-edge drive technology, a vital component of its future-oriented robotics solutions. Joint projects involving SUMO automation systems have demonstrated that replacing pneumatic actuators with efficient electric drives can achieve potential energy savings of up to 70%.
In the same year, Dunkermotoren launched nexofox, its IIoT brand. nexofox offers solutions that help customers integrate and connect smart motors, supporting Dunkermotoren’s transition from a product provider to a full-service partner. It is also compatible with EGS robot solutions and can be adapted for future MAE products.
Product lines from Dunkermotoren include the; BG series brushless servomotors, GR/G series Brushed DC motors, KD/DR AC motors, ST stepper Motors, D/DCD venetian blind drives, PLG/SG/STG gearboxes and the ST/CASM/LSM Servotube product line acquired from Copley Controls.
